Sajid Ahmed is the chief information and innovation officer of Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in South Los Angeles, where he led their extensive health information technology initiative and launched an innovation hub on the organization’s Center Campus. Prior to his work at MLK, Mr. Ahmed was the director of health information technology and innovation for L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation’s largest health plan. He was responsible for the coordination, management and integration of a number of initiatives like their eConsult telehealth campaign. One of his most important accomplishments during his tenure was the creation of HITEC-LA, which adopted and implemented EHRs for area providers. Mr. Ahmed was also pivotal to getting the U.S. Military Medical Command to adopt advanced diagnostic technologies and EHR systems. In addition to his healthcare career, Mr. Ahmed also serves as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at various California institutions of higher learning.
