Muna Khan has been in the healthcare field more than 16 years – all at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He started in the Department of Finance as a Revenue Analyst and supported various Revenue Cycle functions for three years. After that, he joined the Department of Management Engineering and Internal Consulting, where he currently serves as a Senior Principal Health Systems Engineer. The vast majority of his projects over the last 13 years have been in Health Information Technology, and Business Consulting and Strategy – primarily focusing on design, planning, implementation and optimization of the electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications. Muna has led many multi-disciplinary teams and managed several institutional and enterprise projects involving physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other members of the healthcare team. He was a member of the Electronic Health Record and Revenue Cycle Management Selection Committee. He was actively involved in developing business plans for Mayo Clinic's Office of Information and Knowledge Management and also served as an inaugural member of Mayo Clinic Rochester's Clinical Decision Support Committee. He has been on the HIMSS MN Board of Directors for five years previously serving as Director of Programs and Director of Sponsorship. He has an MBA from the Carlson School of Management in Information & Decision Sciences as well as Strategic Management, and also an MPH from Emory University.
