Dr. Higgins is the Chief of the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Higgins completed his medical degree at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City, and his fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at The Center for Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Higgins is the Fellowship Director for the Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship Program. He specializes in sports medicine and shoulder injuries. Dr. Higgins performs total shoulder replacements and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee and elbow.
Dr. Higgins is the Team Physician for Brookline High School.
