Kimberly Ellis Krakowski has been a nurse for over 20 years. She recieved her Bachelors in Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi and her Master's degree in Nursing Administration from George Mason University. She has been in nursing leadership for 15 years and the last 5 years of her career have been in Information Technology where she has become an expert in Nursing Informatics. She is currently the co-investigator of two research projects involving patient portals and wearable devices. She speaks nationally on the topic of Nursing Informatics and Legal Implications of the EHR. She co-authored An Introduction to Nursing Informatics: Evolution and Innovation which was published in March 2015. She was named Nurse.Com Nurse of the Year for Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC in 2015 for Staff Management and Leadership. She believes that thinking outside the box is not good enough.
