Dr. Kevin Carr is Principal with PwC's Advisory services and serves as Population Health Value lead at PwC. Dr. Carr is a seasoned HIT and clinical outcomes professional who has served as a consultant at top-tier consulting firms for the past 12 years. After attending medical school at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Carr attended Residency at Yale University. He stayed on as faculty in the Yale Internal Medicine residency program where he later became CMIO of an affiliated hospital (in parallel to serving as the Program Director of a HRSA-funded multi-site disease management program). Dr. Carr has led technical and process implementations of Cerner, Epic, and Allscripts EMR applications in addition to leading key delivery of large health information exchanges such as CalINDEX and a telecommunications health mobile integration (among many others international, payer, life sciences, and provider initiatives). At PwC, Dr. Carr is leading the future business planning effort for PCORnet (national research network of 13 clinical research networks nationally) and has also actively engaged with multiple clients on quality outcomes improvement, value-based care planning, and payer/provider partnership initiatives (e.g. Harvard Pilgrim, University of Miami, others). He has served large payers (e.g. Aetna, Florida Blue, BCBS-MI) on quality improvement initiatives. In parallel to commercial sector work, has advised the Office of the National Coordinator for ten years on the use of case development for the standard supporting the CMS EHR Incentive Program. Dr. Carr enjoys multi-stakeholder engagements that both define the future of evidence-based medicine (clinical research, comparative effectiveness, etc) and increase adherence to current evidence-based medicine protocols (e.g. CMS Stars Reporting, inpatient quality metrics reporting, other).
