Judy Kirby was employed by an Orlando, Florida area search firm prior to purchasing the business from its retiring owner in 1994. The company grew and changed its name to Kirby Partners.
In 1989, the organization began recruiting in healthcare IT. Judy has worked with and coached hundreds of healthcare IT professionals in their search for new opportunities. In addition to overseeing operations and managing the company, Judy continues to actively recruit.
Judy has received numerous awards, including the 2010 CHIME Collaboration Award for co-authoring the HIMSS book “Marketing IT in the Healthcare Environment” with CIO Chuck Christian and Steve Bennett of Kirby Partners. In 2012, Judy was accepted into The Pinnacle Society, a premier consortium of top recruiters within the direct placement and search industry. The Pinnacle Society is an organization where innovative ideas, high ethical standards and a passion for education can be shared with like-minded peers. For more than 20 years, the Pinnacle Society has provided the nation's top recruiters a forum in which to exchange the business principles and placement techniques that led them to achieve and allows them to maintain their success.
In addition to being a regular speaker at events including HIMSS, CHIME and MUSE, she also frequently writes for industry publications and websites. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society and on the Advisory Board for the Florida Hospital’s Women’s Center in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Judy is a member of CHIME, HIMSS and AMIA. She is also a Senior Editorial Associate with HIT Strategies Newsletter.
Judy has a BA in Psychology. Outside of work, she enjoys worldwide traveling and has visited six continents and over 70 countries.
