Jamie Martin is the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum. In this role, she is responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of consumer engagement, education and outreach strategies to promote health IT initiatives in the public forum. She works closely with organizational leadership and staff to develop and achieve strategic communications and marketing objectives, directs the organization’s social media and digital platforms and coordinates media relations. Prior to joining the Quality Forum, Jamie served as Managing Editor of the Banner-News in Magnolia, Ark., where she oversaw the daily operation of the newspaper. She has also worked as a General Assignment Reporter for the El Dorado News-Times in El Dorado, Ark., and as a Graphic Designer for The Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs, Ark. In those roles, she received numerous awards for excellence in journalism, including coverage of health care-related issues and investigative reporting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Southern Arkansas University and currently serves on the university’s Alumni Board. She is also a member of the Communications Advisory Committee for the National Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment Coalition and assists the organization in developing and implementing communications and marketing standards, materials and strategies for nationwide outreach and educational initiatives. In addition, she has participated in numerous state-level workgroups and task forces focused on health care quality, health IT, patient engagement and health outcomes.
