Ann Kay Cefalu Logarbo, MD, FAAP, is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for United Healthcare (UHC) Community Plan of Louisiana, serving in this capacity since 2012. A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La., she attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. After completing a pediatrics residency at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge where she was chief resident, Dr. Logarbo practiced pediatrics for 27 years in Covington, La., and was a founding partner of Northlake Pediatrics.
While in practice, Dr. Logarbo served on the Pediatrics committees of St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Lakeview Regional Medical Center, both in Covington. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its Louisiana Chapter. Her non-professional appointments include board positions with several educational institutions in Covington.
Since becoming the CMO for UHC Community Plan, her work accomplishments have been recognized by New Orleans CityBusiness as a member of their 2014 “Women of the Year” class and 2015 “Health Care Heroes” class. She serves on the Quality Forum HIT Advisory Council and the Quality Committee and Pediatrics Subcommittee of the Louisiana Department of Health. Dr. Logarbo’s non-profit work includes service with the Seelos Center in New Orleans and serving as a speaker for the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ educational programs for children. For seven years, she has served on the board of the St. Tammany Chapter of Basket of Hope, a non-profit organization that offers guidance and support to children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.
Dr. Logarbo comes from a medical family: six of her brothers are physicians in Louisiana with nine grandchildren pursuing the same career. This family dedication exemplifies her desire to improve healthcare in Louisiana.
