Visualizing the Patient Experience Using an Agile Framework

4:30pm - 5:30pm Wednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Palazzo D

Description

As the US healthcare market has shifted from a fee-for-service to a pay-for-performance reimbursement model, patient experience survey ratings are under more scrutiny than ever. Performance is not only positively correlated to financial performance and health outcomes - it can also shape perceptions that drive customer loyalty. As a result, hospitals have devoted considerable time and expense to measuring, reporting and improving their patient experience ratings. Unfortunately, most vendor-supplied reporting tools do not address the very diverse and specific needs of their consumers. This session will discuss how to maximize the potential of your patient experience survey data by applying data visualization techniques and an Agile development framework.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how to maximize the analytical potential of patient experience survey data by gaining access to disaggregated response data
  • Develop an extraction method and a database schema to store patient experience survey data
  • Formulate a selection of key metrics for display on a dashboard using an Agile development framework
  • Apply sound data visualization principles to produce an effective, attractive and interactive patient experience dashboard
