It’s no secret that best practices and work habits for Baby Boomers vary from generation Y. A Boomer could come to a consultation with a small notebook while Gen Y walks in with a tablet equipped with a voice-to-text application. It’s been said that 10,000 Baby Boomers retire every day and that by 2030 all of the Boomers will be retired (or will at least have reached 65 years of age). Knowing that, to attract the best talent from the younger generation, it’s important to show them that your facility is equipped with the technology to which they’re most accustomed, e.g. all-in-one mobile devices, virtual desktop integration, Follow Me Print, to help them do their jobs. Today’s healthcare facility needs to implement information mobility tools that enable data-centric workflows, as opposed to document-centric workflows, to attract the next generation of caregivers.
