Securing Patient Data: Limiting Loss with Rate Locking and De-Identification

4:30pm - 5:30pm Tuesday, March 6
Las Vegas - Sands Convention Center
Interoperability Showcase | 11955 Theater

Description

Data is revolutionizing medicine, but in this age of ever increasing computer insecurity, how do we save lives without putting everything at risk? In this talk, we’re going to dive in the nitty gritty of the actual technical concerns around cloud computing in general, and Meltdown/Spectre microarchitectural flaws in particular. We can’t stop using computers, so let’s understand how to use them safely -- how to de-identify our data to manage the risk of losing it, and how to outright limit the rate at which we might lose any data at all.
