Description

More than 200 million people will use a mobile business app this year. By 2020, with the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), there will be 25 billion connected devices and 4 billion connected users. The line between consumer devices and business devices is blurring as wireless and cloud services expand. More and more devices are "entering" the healthcare system setting up expectations for ‘plug and play’ capabilities. How should an enterprise and covered entities address security compliance while supporting seamless access to data? How can programs such as ConCert by HIMSS support today’s security needs?

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate the current and projected growth of the ‘internet of things’ and ‘plug and play’ interoperability landscape
  • Discuss the importance of securing data exchange with medical device security compliance
  • Identify the value that interoperability certification programs, such as ConCert by HIMSS, bring to the forefront of addressing today’s access and security needs
