The Payer/Provider Perspective on Interoperability – The DaVinci Project

1:30pm - 2:30pm Wednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Sands Convention Center
Interoperability Showcase | 11955 Theater

Description

Hear about the new HL7 FHIR-focused Da Vinci Project This exciting new private-sector led initiative responds to the need to establish a rapid multi-stakeholder process for addressing value based care use cases that could be implemented on a national basis. The objective is to reduce the development and deployment of unique solutions between trading partners (e.g. a payer and provider). To promote interoperability across value based care stakeholders, the industry needs common: 1) standards (FHIR), 2) implementation guides, and 3) reference implementation to guide the rapid development and deployment of interoperable solutions on a national scale. The goals of the DaVinci Project are to assemble a multi-stake holder group consisting of Payers, Providers, HIT vendors, HL7 and HHS/CMS/ONC to: 1) Identify specific value based care use cases that are amenable to national solutions using FHIR APIs. 2) Rapidly develop implementation guides and reference implementations, and field test them to validate readiness and efficacy.
