Opening Keynote: Leverage Points to Advance Interoperability

8:15am - 9:15am Monday, March 5
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Lando 4301

Description

Today, there is an array of domains in which public and private sector efforts are working to advance interoperability. What remains unclear is the extent to which these are occurring synergistically and whether they are addressing the points of greatest leverage to speed progress. In this session, we will ask national thought leaders to share their perspectives, as well as challenge each other, on two key questions. First, what is the ultimate "end point" or "goal" for interoperability efforts and where are/aren't the array of efforts to advance interoperability advancing towards the same shared end point? Second, among efforts to advance interoperability, what are the points of greatest leverage (i.e., least amount of effort resulting in greatest gains)?

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the vision(s) for national interoperability and where efforts to advance the vision are synergistic or need to be better coordinated
  • Demonstrate basic familiarity with the range of concepts, technologies, policies, etc. that are attempting to speed interoperability progress, and understand which hold the most promise to truly have an impact
