NODE Health Digital Payer-Provider Industry Round Table at HIMSS 2017

February 20, 2017 — 10:00AM EST - 02:00PM EST
414C, Level IV, West Concourse

Description

Care and Funding Models Taking Healthcare Organizations From Innovation to Digital Transformation

It is hard to say who had the first, but every major medical center now has an innovation center or partnership with startups, accelerators, payers and industry that's focus is to drive innovation. Just a look at the different types of innovation centers reveals that there is no one size fits all solution to creating a center of innovation in a health system. Also, innovation is just the start and to be meaningful; innovation has to lead to the transformation of health systems. Digital Medicine implementations are suffering from "death by pilot," without standards across health systems to evaluate and share the evidence to fast-track technologies that have a measurable impact on patient outcomes (EVIDENCE GAP). For technologies that have addressed the evidence gap, the lack of funding and care models prevents many of these technologies from becoming mainstream (TRANSFORMATION GAP). Some payers and health systems have started to support these efforts through sustainable funding and care models. This roundtable will bring together the best practices and models from payers, providers and corporate partners that can support the journey from innovation to evidence and transformation.

NODE Health (Network Of Digital health Evidence in Health) is a think-tank and academic home for evidence-based digital medicine (EBDM) by bringing together academic medical institutions, payers, accelerators, startups, and corporate partners to share information about digital medicine pilots and strategies to address the Evidence and Transformation gap. The overarching goal is to combine the rigor of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) with implementation science to help create evidence-based digital medicine (EBDM) supporting the transformation of healthcare delivery.
