Description

HIEs around the country are making a difference when it comes to managing complex populations. This session will demonstrate innovative ways HIEs are leveraging data to support care management, fight the opioid epidemic, enable cross region data sharing, and integrate with federal and state agencies.
This session is part of a special program called HIMSS/SHIEC Interoperability & HIE Symposium: Facilitating Person-Centered Interoperable HIE to Manage Complex Populations. Extra fees and separate registration is required.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify best practices for alerting and notifications services across the care continuum
  • Describe new frameworks being used to ensure patients records are available across state lines and regions of the country
  • Explain how Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) data is being integrated and delivered to the point of care to curb the rise of opioid abuse
