Session ID:

Aging & Technology: A Call to Action

2:00pm - 5:00pm Thursday, March 8
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
BELLINI 2005-2006

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), between 2015 and 2050, the world's population over 60 years of age will nearly double, from 12% to 22%. At the same time, people are living longer, creating a myriad of challenges for society. As a result, we are seeing a more evolved view of aging, and a growing role for digital health and wellness in our daily lives.

PCHAlliance’s “Aging & Technology: A Call to Action” will review innovations, initiatives, and partnerships in healthy aging to provide both the context and pressing need to develop personal connected health technologies, such as the use of robotics, voice assistants, and other emerging technologies, that can help us achieve a better quality of life as we age. Experts in aging will inform participants on four key topics including extending independence through personal connected health, caregiving & chronic disease management leveraging technology, using digital to sustain health & wellness, and healthy communities through connectedness and smart tech.

The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with a sufficient review of some of the existing innovations and research in healthy longevity technologies to begin identifying potential collaborations toward the development of personal connected health solutions to support healthy longevity: a call to action.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of the aging boomer market as users of personal connected health for a healthy longevity
  • Connect the dots on what participant organizations are currently doing in personal connected health
  • Identify opportunities for collective impact that can take aging solutions from abstract to reality
