4:00pm - 5:00pmWednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Hospitals large and small have arrived at the same conclusion: it’s time to get out of the data center business. Maintaining IT infrastructure internally has become too cumbersome, even while the risk of a data breach grows greater—especially given the chronic shortage of IT security talent. The cloud beckons as a viable alternative, but smaller community hospitals have less time to do due diligence on public clouds such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. They also have pointed questions about maintaining data security and HIPAA compliance in the cloud. This session is geared to providing the answers these hospitals seek. Presented by a healthcare CIO with extensive experience managing IT for community hospitals and medical groups, this session will outline the unique challenges—and unexpected opportunities—smaller organizations will encounter by moving their core applications and protected health information to a secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud.
