Description

Mountain Park has long had an interest in keeping their finger on the pulse of the health status of the community we serve.  As early as 2003, with the help of some basic data collection in the paper medical record we were able to ascertain that the children in South Phoenix community, where our largest clinic sits was in the midst of an obesity epidemic.  A 2003 survey of medical records at Mountain Park, indicated that 25.1% of patient’s ages 6 – 19 years were obese.  Compared to a national mean of 15.4% at the time. Mountain Park has kept this pressing issue at the forefront over the past 13 years, being able to track and monitor obesity in children has been a huge advantage of using EHR.
