The national Open Notes movement is gaining momentum in providing patients electronic secure access to health information. Research indicates that greater than 75% of patients who have electronic access to physicians’ notes feel more in control of their care, 73% of Physicians report improved relationships with patients, and greater than 85% of patients indicate availability of physician notes would affect their future choice of provider.
