Registration Policies

Early Bird registration discount ends on Monday, December 5, 2016

Advance registration discount ends on Monday, January 23, 2017

All registrations and payments received after January 23, 2017 must pay the standard registration fee. If payment is not received by CompuSystems (HIMSS17 conference registrar) by January 23, you may still submit your registration with the standard rate fee.

Email Policy

HIMSS does not share your email address with exhibitors. If you receive email from an exhibitor, contact the exhibitor directly to remove your name from their distribution list. You may also alert HIMSS at annualconference@himss.org.

Badge Pickup

You may pickup your badge at any of the locations listed below. You will need your confirmation email with the QR code or your registration Confirmation ID and a Government-issued picture ID.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Full conference registrations, exhibit hall only passes, and single day registrations, less a $100 cancellation fee, are refundable only if submitted in writing to himss@compusystems.com on or before Monday, January 23, 2017. Registrations and cancellations received after Monday, January 23 are not refundable. You cannot reinstate a registration after you cancel it. HIMSS membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  HIMSS Star Service is non-refundable. If you cancel and are entitled to a refund, expect the refund within 7-14 business days. Registrations must be charged to Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.  Wire payments and checks are also accepted. No purchase orders are accepted.  All refunds will be issued back to the original payment type. Cash payments will be refunded by check.

Please note:  Registration cancellations will not automatically update your hotel reservation. (Please refer to the Hotel Cancellation and Refund Policy here).

Substitution Policy

Registrants unable to attend may send a substitute. If the substitute is not a member, the non-member fee will be required. Substitutions must be made in writing to himss@compusystems.com. The substitute must pay any difference in registration rate based on membership status.  Your substitute must first register themselves and pay the fee associated with their registration.  Once this is complete, please send the substitute's registration ID to the HIMSS registrar, CompuSystems, at himss@compusystems.com.  Your account will be cancelled and your fee refunded. If the substitution takes place on-site, the substitute must bring a letter on company letterhead verifying the substitution.

HIMSS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs and to close registration when programs are sold out. For these reasons, registrants are advised against purchasing non-refundable airline tickets. Should HIMSS17 be cancelled, your registration fee will not be refunded but will automatically be applied to the next HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

HIMSS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs and to close registration when programs are sold out. For these reasons, registrants are advised against purchasing non-refundable airline tickets. Should HIMSS17 be cancelled, your registration fee will not be refunded but will automatically be applied to the next HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

By registering for HIMSS17 you are agreeing to the following terms:

I agree not to copy or permit to be copied, in any form or format, without the express written permission of HIMSS, any of the contents of the HIMSS17 attendee roster. I also agree not to use the roster contents for any commercial, marketing, promotional, or political purposes. No solicitation is permitted by anyone except by exhibitors within the confinement of their booth.

I understand that I am prohibited from recording any educational session content unless I have obtained written permission in advance from HIMSS.

You are providing permission to receive emails, mailings and faxes related to HIMSS. If you wish to opt out of receiving any of these materials you may do so during the online registration process or by emailing annualconference@himss.org.

For security reasons, badge swapping is not permitted. Anyone found wearing a badge that does not match his/her identification will be evicted from the conference without a refund. In addition, the badge/name will be cancelled.

Event Participants are expected to behave responsibly and to treat each other - and treat the community - with respect, kindness, and compassion. HIMSS17 reserves the right, without refund, to revoke the Credentials of Participants whose conduct is deemed inappropriate, disorderly, or offensive by HIMSS, affiliated third parties or the local authorities.

HIMSS17 is a private event and has a weapons-free policy. Attending Participants are prohibited from carrying weapons of any kind, including concealed or displayed firearms. Participants are not permitted to bring weapons onto the premises of any official HIMSS17 events. HIMSS17 reserves the right, in its sole discretion, without refund, to deactivate and/or revoke the Credentials of Participants who violate this weapons-free policy. Participant agrees that this policy is in force, and agrees to comply with the policy, regardless of whether signs prohibiting weapons are posted at the premises of any official HIMSS17 event.

I agree to all the terms and conditions set forth above, including the use of photographic images. Noncompliance will result in registration cancellation without refund.  HIMSS reserves the right to expel anyone in violation of these policies from the conference.
