Continuing education credits/contact hours are available for Healthcare Executives, Nurses and Physicians. All other participants may apply for a HIMSS attendance certificate. Continuing education forms can be obtained at the USUHS continuing education booth located on South Level 1 (near south transportation entrance).

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) is authorized to award 23.25 hours of pre-approved Category II (non-ACHE) continuing education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward Category II credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
25.42 CNE contact hours are provided for participation in this educational activity.
Requirements for successful completion: you must attend the activity, complete and submit the evaluation and attendance verification forms at the conclusion of the activity. All forms must be submitted prior to leaving the HIMSS meeting.

HIMSS09 participants may receive an attendance certificate from USUHS verifying their participation in the conference. HIMSS09 is designated for 23.25 (AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.) Please stop by the continuing education desk located on South Level 1 (near south transportation entrance) to fill out the form to obtain a certificate. Certificates will be mailed to participants in 8-12 weeks.
HIMSS09 is also an excellent opportunity to for pharmacists, project managers as well as HIMSS and AHIMA members to earn continuing education credit.
Continuing Education Accreditation for Pharmacists
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The programs identified with an ACPE Program Number are cosponsored by ASHP and will provide continuing pharmacy education credit for the number of hours indicated. Pharmacists may earn up to 16.0 contact hours (1.6 CEUs) at the HIMSS 09 Conference and should request CE only for the sessions they attended.
To receive continuing pharmacy education, request forms will be available at the Pharmacy Symposium registration desk and sessions 15, 17, 20, 34, 50, 73, 81, 108, 125, 139, 162, 190.
Health Information Management Professionals
Lecture and panel sessions of this program have been approved for continuing education credits for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Professional Development Units for Project Managers
Attendees at project management sessions of this program may file for Category 4 PDUs to be used in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Documentation Required: PMPs should maintain registration form, certificate or letter of attendance, and a brochure or course materials indicating the subject matter covered and the qualifications of the instructor or content expert.
