This is your opportunity to test your knowledge before taking the CPHIMS exam. The course features lecture, discussion, a practice test, and newly added study materials available exclusively to Review Course participants. Discover areas that you need to study and interact with expert instructors who have earned the CPHIMS designation. If you are interested in certification and wish to be fully prepared for the exam, you do not want to miss this Review Course. (It does not guarantee that a candidate will pass the examination, but it provides the best opportunity to prepare for it and interact with others also preparing for the exam.)

This year's CPHIMS Review Course trainers are:

Scott BatemanScott Bateman, PMP®, CPHIMS
PMO Director, Bon Secours Health System, Inc
Norfolk, VA

Scott is currently the PMO Director for Bon Secours Health System, Inc. He has over 20 years experience in Information Technology including seven years of HIT industry experience. Scott manages a team of skilled project managers and is ultimately responsible for development and maintenance of all project management standards as well as the overall success for Epic implementation initiatives across the Bon Secours Health System network. Scott earned the PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute, Inc. in 1998, and became a HIMSS Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems in 2003. He is an active member of the local Virginia Chapter of PMI and has held several board positions with the Virginia Chapter of HIMSS including Sponsorship Chair, Secretary, and Chapter President. Scott holds a BS degree in Management Information Systems from Old Dominion University and Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University.

Thompson H. Boyd, IIIThompson H. Boyd, III, MD, CPHIMS

Currently, Dr. Thompson Boyd serves as a Physician Liaison for Hahnemann University Hospital. He has practiced internal medicine for more than 24 years and has worked in the HIT field for over a decade. In 1998, he facilitated the conversion of an in-patient CPOE System to Siemens Invision in addition to later integrating Hahnemann’s CPOE system with Medicare Compliance Initiatives. Thompson has also assumed responsibility for the generation and testing of ordering pathways and order sets and assists with revenue cycle efforts, participating in preparation of appeals. In 2007, he became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems. Dr. Boyd is an active member of the Delaware Valley HIMSS Chapter and serves on the HIMSS Privacy and Security Steering Committee, as well as the Privacy and Security Advocacy Task Force. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia.
