To learn more about HIMSS, visit the History Wall. This exhibit, created by the Legacy Work Group, displays artifacts and a timeline celebrating HIMSS' rich, nearly 50-year history.
At the HIMSS Bookstore, attendees can purchase the latest publications and CDs published by HIMSS and other prestigious associations and publishers, all at a special 10 percent conference discount. Some titles to debut at HIMSS09 include new editions of HIMSS' bar coding and auto-ID guide and health IT dictionary, in addition to books on clinical decision support, PHRs, strategic planning and performance improvement. Besides books, at the HIMSS Gear kiosk, t-shirts, mugs and more bearing the HIMSS logo are available for purchase.
On Tuesday, April 7, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the world's most famous former hacker Kevin Mitnick will be signing copies of his book, The Art of Deception, directly after his Views from the Top session at HIMSS Central. Also, as HIMSS09 wraps up, don't miss the book signing on Wednesday, April 8, with HIMSS09 Closing Keynote Speaker Jerry M. Linenger, MD, MSSM, MPH, PhD. He will sign copies of his book, Letters from Mir: An Astronaut's Letters to His Son.
