Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) are at a Crossroads! .There are many more RHIO/HIE initiatives throughout the country than ever before. Today, national and state level initiatives are developing and growing along with the various RHIO efforts. The challenge now, for most of these organizations, is advancing their RHIO for long term successful sustainability.
This symposium will provide insight from those RHIO communities who have faced obstacles and challenges with success. During the one day workshop, we will review the state of today’s RHIO industry and examine the intersection of state level initiatives, successful finance and business models, funding resources, and the impact of privacy/security on the RHIO environment.

Topics to be covered include an examination of supply chain management essentials from A to Z; a global perspective on the use of technology and the supply chain; a discussion on revenue enhancement, quality, and regulatory issues based on an industry collaborative benchmarking project; an overview of a data repository project that unites clinical and financial data with an emphasis on supply chain; an examination of supply chain standards and the impact to patient safety and quality; and a look to the future what it holds for supply chain management.
