CIO/CTO/Senior IT Executive

Where the brightest minds in health and IT ANTICIPATE

David is the CIO of a mid-sized hospital system, where he oversees the IT staff servicing three hospitals, five ambulatory clinics, two nursing homes and a home health agency. Challenged with significant budgetary constraints, his top priority this past year has been to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of his team’s efforts in supporting the system’s patient care outcomes.

Beyond day-to-day operational challenges, David has primary responsibility for projecting the system’s health IT needs.

With an ever-changing healthcare landscape, he is most concerned with:

  • Acquiring clinical technologies that best support the system’s patient quality goals
  • Ensuring that the usability of the IT systems enhance (and don’t hinder) the physicians’ and clinical staff’s workflow experience
  • Enabling physicians and other staff members to embrace necessary organizational and technology-related changes
  • Preventing and protecting against breaches of electronic patient data and hospital information assets
  • Implementing a technological infrastructure that supports the exchange of data – first between all care sites within the system, and second with outside provider organizations

David knows that his IT staff rely on his strategic leadership, informed by the latest advances and innovations in health IT, in order to continue to positively transform health and lives.

At HIMSS17, David will explore creative solutions to real-world challenges, discover the latest innovations and solutions, and connect with and learn from colleagues and other experts as he continues to anticipate his organization’s needs. He will find 300+ education programs, 1,200+ vendors, hundreds of special programs, and limitless networking opportunities – all designed to equip him to navigate the ever-changing, challenging world of health IT.
