WHERE THE BRIGHTEST MINDS in health and IT meet.

CMO/CMIO

Where the brightest minds in health and IT DECIDE

Emily is the CMO at a mid-sized hospital system, where she functions as a liaison between management and medical staff, influencing physicians and hospital administrators to create working relationships that benefit both. She links various stakeholders, finding common needs and goals to help achieve her system’s clinical, strategic and operational objectives.

Emily makes vital decisions constantly, working across departmental and institutional borders to advance individual and population health outcomes.

She is concerned with:

  • Understanding and communicating key stakeholders’ points of view, including clinicians, administrators, managers, insurers, regulators and the public
  • Implementing her system’s strategic plan, and developing physician leadership to assist her in exerting influence without direct control
  • Navigating change and administering complex coordination efforts across clinical departments and support services
  • Learning about and adapting to the new MACRA regulation
  • Interpreting financial statements and translating financial needs into clinically relevant terms
  • Assessing community medical needs and opportunities, and developing physician alignment strategies that meet them
  • Redesigning care systems in order to realize quality improvement and savings from integrated medical records and coordinated care

Emily knows that by equipping herself with the latest health IT education and innovations, she can continue to influence physicians and administrators to improve the care and outcomes of individuals and populations, and transform health and lives.

At HIMSS17, Emily will connect with other like-minded colleagues, explore creative solutions to real-world challenges, and learn how to implement relevant insights, solutions and connections as she continues to make essential decisions to help transform health through IT. She will find 300+ education programs, 1,200+ vendors, hundreds of special programs, and limitless networking opportunities – all designed to equip her to navigate the ever-changing, challenging world of health IT.
