Biz Stone
Co-founder, Twitter
Biz Stone is co-founder of Twitter, a messaging network changing the way we communicate. For the past decade, Mr. Stone has been working on large scale projects that facilitate the open exchange of information starting with social networking and blogging service Xanga in 1999. In 2003, he moved to Google where he met and collaborated with Twitter co-founder Evan Williams. The pair would later exit the search company. Twitter was founded in 2007. Mr. Stone has published two books on the origins and social significance of our changing communication landscape and has lectured around the world on this subject as well as others including creativity, opportunity, and positive global change. In 2009, Mr. Stone was added to the Time 100, an annual list of the world's most influential people. We look forward to hearing Mr. Stone's view of how social media can influence the changing healthcare landscape.

Farzad Mostashari, MD, ScM
National Coordinator for Health Information Technology
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Dr. Farzad Mostashari serves as National Coordinator for Health Information Technology within the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He joined ONC in July 2009. Previously, he served at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as Assistant Commissioner for the Primary Care Information Project, where he facilitated the adoption of prevention-oriented health information technology by over 1,500 providers in underserved communities. Dr. Mostashari also led the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded NYC Center of Excellence in Public Health Informatics and an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality funded project focused on quality measurement at the point of care. Prior to this he established the Bureau of Epidemiology Services at the NYC Department of Health, charged with providing epidemiologic and statistical expertise and data for decision making to the health department.

Terry Moran was named co-anchor of ABC News "Nightline" in October 2005. At "Nightline," he has led the program's distinguished coverage of several of the major news stories in the last several years. In the historic presidential campaign of 2008, he traveled across the country chronicling the rise of Sen. Barack Obama. He has covered the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He traveled to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for a weeklong series on the American detention facility there. He led coverage of the tragedy at Virginia Tech; he was on the scene in Los Angeles reporting on the huge immigration rallies there; and he has chronicled the continuing struggle of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Before co-anchoring "Nightline," Mr. Moran was ABC's chief White House correspondent for six yearsHe has written for many publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post and The New Republic Magazine — where he began his career in journalism. Mr. Moran will moderate the HIMSS12 keynote session featuring Donna Brazile and Dana Perino.

Renowned Political Strategist and Commentator Vice Chair of Voter Registration and Participation, Democratic National Committee
Veteran Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile worked on every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000, when she served as campaign manager for former Vice President Al Gore. She is the author of the best-selling memoir Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, a syndicated newspaper columnist for United Media, a columnist for Ms. Magazine and an on-air contributor to CNN, NPR, and ABC, where she regularly appears on This Week. Aside from working for the full recovery of her native New Orleans, Ms. Brazile’s passion is encouraging young people to vote, working within the political system in order to strengthen it, and running for public office. In her presentations, she addresses our current political environment, hot-topic legislation, campaigns, and voting. Ms. Brazile joins Dana Perino in what promises to be a spirited HIMSS12 debate on the 2012 elections and healthcare reform.
