HIMSS18 is an excellent opportunity to earn continuing education credit for senior executives (ACHE; CHCIO), physicians (CME; LLSA/MOC), nurses (CNE), pharmacists (CPE), project managers (PMI/PDUs), health information management professionals (AHIMA), information security professionals (IAPP), Revenue Cycle Professionals (AAHAM) and those seeking contact hours towards the renewal of CAHIMS, CPHIMS, and CPHIMS-CA.

Continuing Education Credit

CPHIMSCPHIMS

This program has been approved for use in fulfilling the continuing education renewal requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).

CPHIMS credits may be claimed for additional education programs not included in the CE tracking document. Educational programming related to health information and technology with defined learning objectives and that is free of commercial bias may qualify for continuing education hours. For the CPHIMS and CAHIMS hours may be recorded in 15-minute increments with 15 minutes = 0.25 CEs.

CAHIMSCAHIMS

This program has been approved for use in fulfilling the continuing education renewal requirements of the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).

This program qualifies for non-CHIME Continuing Education Units (CEU) towards the CHIME Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) Program. CHIME recognizes 1 hour of participation as equivalent to 1 CEU. Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of a range of clinicians with an interest in health information technology who encompass various clinical specialties.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Identify issues that impact patient safety and security in the healthcare enterprise and ambulatory practice.
