Performance Measurement and CDS Symposium: Meaningful Use Improves Quality Care
This symposium will provide the latest understanding for eligible hospitals and eligible providers (EPs) to integrate clinical decision (CDS) support at the point of care, and capture clinical quality measures for quality reporting to demonstrate meaningful use of their EHR system.
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Describe the key players in the health IT quality space that are developing the tools and guidance to effectively meet meaningful use requirements.
- Explain how to meet the clinical quality measure and CDS requirements to be an ARRA meaningful user.
- Illustrate how eMeasures represent a paradigm shift from quality reporting based on paper medical records to performance measurement utilizing certified EHR technology.
- Discuss the governance, leadership, cultural, and technological challenges to effectively implement and integrate CDS within an EHR.
- Explain the cost and quality benefits of leveraging health IT to create value and efficiencies, operationally, clinically, and financially.
