Calculation of clinical scores is time consuming. We identified 170 commonly used clinical calculators and assessed importance of each through a national wide survey. To prepare for EMR integration, we performed a programability assessment of each score to evaluate methods of automated calculation within the EMR.
We created Fast Facts and Concepts for iOS and Android which is the world’s most downloaded point of care mobile reference application for palliative care providers. We will evaluate and describe application user behavior at a global scale using an analytics layer integrated into Fast Facts and Concepts.

By analyzing large quantities of patient data we have developed improved Sepsis detection and prediction models using advanced machine learning techniques. Real-time validation in a Medical Intensive Care Unit will be reported as well as lessons learned during the development process.

Clinical Snapshot is integrated into outpatient EHR, provides a point-of-care huddle-report, enables clinically intuitive workflows and guided review of pertinent data to support modern care requirements, and was developed to support rapid transformation of practices into Patient Centered Medical Homes.
In 2014 CHOC began developing a vision for managing the health of at-risk populations. As a result of their innovative vision, in 2015 CHOC earned a grant to develop care guidelines for acute illnesses and conditions presenting in primary care clinics, leading to improvements in clinical outcomes and resource utilization.
Exhaustive lists of textual EHR documents are inefficient and cognitively burdensome. We report our experience piloting a Medical Record timeLine (MeRLin) that aggregates and filters EHR-derived events in real time into an interactive, single-screen visualization of the longitudinal medical record to improve clinical chart review and decision making.
